Nicholas Venturini

M.D / PhD student

Nicholas is an MD/PhD student in the Merad Lab pursuing a PhD in Clinical Research. He is interested in investigating the effects of neoadjuvant immunotherapy on cancer cells, stromal cells, and infiltrating immune cells in colorectal cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma. His work focuses primarily on "window-of-opportunity" clinical trials, during which patients receive neoadjuvant therapy prior to surgical resection. These studies provide a unique opportunity to study the effects of novel therapies on the tumor microenvironment and to identify factors that may allow clinicians to predict response.
