Leanna Troncoso

Associate researcher

I am a 2020 graduate in Biochemistry from Smith College. I spent my undergraduate years optimizing protein-based targeted therapeutics against cancer using in vitro models. At the Merad lab, I am exploring the distribution of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment in order to improve cancer treatments. A typical week for me includes performing multiplexed immunohistochemical staining on human or mouse tissues and conducting human sample digestions for multiple cancer types (HCC, NSCLC, HNSCC, CRC) to monitor the response to immunotherapy in ongoing clinical trials.

Fun facts about myself:

  1. I'm passionate about trying new things like foods, anime, and exploring art exhibits.

  2. I am extremely confident in my burrito rolling ability.

  3. My favorite animal is a mountain goat.
