Brian Soong

M.D / PhD student

Brian is an MD/PhD student studying the epigenetics of hematopoietic progenitors across various cancers and immunotherapies.

Originally from Basking Ridge, NJ, he completed a degree in biophysics from Johns Hopkins University, where he engineered light-activatable DNA helicases. After graduation, he worked at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, developing image-based CRISPR screening methods before coming to Mount Sinai.

In his spare time, Brian enjoys cooking, skiing and snowboarding, and watching movies. 


Fun facts about myself:

  1. It's really hard for me to do a sit-up :(

  2. I've been to 300+ restaurants since moving to NYC in the last two years

  3. I'm allergic to frogs!
